breathe in.

It’s time to inhale.

So… I admit. I’m exhausted. Not like in a totally heavy or empty sort of way. More like drifting into stillness at the tail end of a so-many-months long exhale of uninterrupted movement, play, service, love.
Creation.fire Fire, offerings, performances, camera lenses, gazes, in the temples and under the starry night sky open fields. So much dance. Dancing in every way. On every occasion. Birth, death. Equinox. Two steps forward, three steps back… breathing deep and flying right over the obstacles and the letting go.
Magnetizing the tappi.
Italian driving adventures. Velocity, autostrada. Torino. Ivrea. Milano Malpensa after midnight.
Going to new places, ancient ones too, coming home. Healing, dreaming, building. Making, art. Orienting, trees. Harvesting.
Catalyzing.
Cleansing. Alchemy. Ritual magic. From Solstice and back again, from one full moon to the next. Every week, repeat.
Translating, everything.
Writing, in stellar and human languages. So many voices and stories insisting on coming through the filter of my body, mind. voice.
Connecting the dots… communicating, with everyone, the Dutch TV personality wandering around our kitchen and interrogating me about my love life and future children, all the hundreds of people who ask me the same questions about how long I’ve been here and how I did I end up here in the first place and what do I do and what is my ‘typical’ day like and and where on earth am I from anyway? …
Escaping. Sun-bathing.
And now … it’s the darkness of new moon and time to breathe in again. Refill and filter through. In solitude, in the shadow of the mountains, in the starlight always nourishing me.

the heart of being you

cuore di ghiandeOn my most recent journey in California, I returned to Esaleletting gon in Big Sur, a place that not only nourishes me and restores me to who I most want to be, it has offered some of the most significant synchronic signposts on this ‘roadtrip’ of an incarnation, including the time I met my first Damanhurian friend at the Esalen Art Barn. Every time I go back there, I visit the Art Barn, pay homage to those moments, and sit outside by the roaring crystalline ocean waves and let myself be inspired to write.

Here’s what came through this time. It’s poem for a friend of mine who is moving through some vulnerable moments. She’s a Scorpio. They are sensitive.

in every heart,
there is a place
where you meet all your desires.
a hot chocolate embrace,
sticky kisses of nectar the color of sunshine,
silk pillows stuffed with rainbow bird feathers,
so full that one burst open
and a flurry of feathers
dances with the wind
tickling the laughter out of you,
when the whole world seems to be conspiring
to inspire frowns and tears and
the shrinking of your light.
and in that sacred, delicious place
is a memory
of that one time
you decided to be you
nothing more
just the roaring, passionate everything of our soul
and in being so unapologetically, shame-free you…
you were whole,
and you were loved.

Continue reading

Thai food, Renaissance costumes and Egyptian love goddess

Turin is a city rich with esoteric and magical history, and I feel that something is still very much alive in the events and energy field there. Even a seemingly ordinary Friday afternoon soon becomes a colorful adventure.

Lukas and AshHere are my traveling companions in urban exploration, Lukas and Ash. (discover more about Ash’s travel journey at Wander More Ponder More)

I met Ash at the InterPlay training on Art in Social Change in Oakland, California last year. As an alumni of the training, she joined us for our first day and made a delicious vegan, gluten free and locally sourced lunch, with sweet little handmade labels. I was immediately enchanted and grateful. Such a happy surprise to discover her and Lukas WWOOFing at Prima Stalla here in Damanhur! Soon they joined us at Dendera … weed whacking and painting a lush caravan mural.costume flag 1

At the Egyptian Museum for my second visit, I was particularly fascinated by the illustrated papyrus scrolls of the Egyptian Book of the Dead and the impressive figures in the statuary.

HathorHere’s Hathor, goddess mother of love and joy, protector of art, music and singing, whom I feel particularly connected with since my nucleo community “Dendera” in the Tentyris community region at Damanhur is the name of her main temple complex in Egypt.

Falco Tarassaco said of Turin, “It’s an anomalous reality, characterized by various objects that arrived from Egypt. The Egyptian Museum has exhibits which are very important from the perspective of magic and alchemy because of their history, or at least they have been for a long time.”

Walking into the statuary at the Egyptian Museum feels like walking into a living temple space… kind of like the feeling I get when I walk into the scarabNiatel Selfic painting gallery at Damanhur Crea. A room full of powerful, conscious energies.

After traveling through time and space with Renaissance costumes and Egyptian deities, we grounded ourselves with Thai food at Daiichi, a Japanese-Thai restaurant with a comfortable yet sleek modern aesthetic, and the only place in Italy I have ever had heated plum wine. The place mats soon became sketch sheets. Lukas and Ash drawing

circleHere’s something I wrote, inspired by the moment, while waiting for red curry tofu and banana coconut milk dessert:

we are immersed in a sea of synchronicity
where each of us is a carrier of magical events.
along the purifying alchemical pathway,
encounters of every kind,
fiery, sweet, always alive.
and at the end of the path
the happiest discovery is that
the last breath is only the beginning.

As with all my poetry these days, I wrote it in Italian first…

siamo immersi in un mare di sincronicità
dove ognuno di noi è portatore di eventi magici.
lunga la via alchemica purificatrice
incontri di ogni tipologia,
focoso, dolce, sempre vivo.
e alla fine del percorso,
la scoperta più felice è
che l’ultimo respiro
è solo l’inizio.

desire is all we need for unity

it’s enough to just want it
desiring and being
wanting
to be here
together
in the Game of Life:
I, you, we
a single being
a Popolo like no other
us, united.

connected

it’s enough to see it
to see
your smile
emanating from the dream
in your heart.
my desire,
your living dream,
within you
smiling
inside of me,
chain of smiles,
achievements,
visualized
activated
materialized
shared.
united.

it’s enough to feel it
emotions
all of themFreedom in Community:
a river
from the future to the now
the present moment
the only moment
that counts
that pulses
with the vitality
of the heart
yours, mine
united
together with joy
and free will.

underground alliance

Mt. Shasta clouds

Underground alliance. Lines intersecting in the depths, separate paths gliding together. And even the trees connect us with their pure signals, emissary roots, orienting us toward a Union of hearts. Beating, a common rhythm communicating from the center or the earth. Beyond diversity, syntony of species, symphony of codes: blood lymph rivers and currents of rock. The sun dancing in a delicate equilibrium with gravity, alone in an incomplete circle. Here in this world, its singular rays are intwined with interplanetary ones, passing through clouds that hide passageways with their innocent shapes. Elliptical, dissolved …
